“Prepare to meet your ice maker.”
The 2005 advertisement for Mattel’s line of The Batman toys that I shared earlier this week is only one part of the marketing push from that series. Today, as you can see, we’ve got a second 2005 ad, this time showcasing Mister Freeze and his unusual character design from the animated series.
As with The Joker shown in that earlier ad, Mister Freeze’s appearance in this line never quite worked for me, but I can respect that the designers were willing to try something so different from what had come before.

I quite liked the TV series when it was on. It had a really fun, anime-influenced aesthetic. I think the Bat family (Bats, Robin, and Batgirl) had some really great character designs. Freeze and Joker were okay, but the Bats looked boss!
