“Proton Fire” Roleplaying Game from TSR
Flipping through the July 1985 issue of Dragon magazine (Amazon.com search*) we find a teaser for a then-upcoming new roleplaying game, Proton Fire. Described as a robot roleplaying game, the best part of the two-page article has to be the artwork. I do love robot artwork.
The game never happened; don’t bother searching for a copy. But you can read more about the game in this Grognardia post and even the Acaeum forums have a little info on the not-to-be-made game.
“. . . the 1985 catalog had one page devoted to TSR’s new game Proton Fire (RPG) which was a robot game – not sure if humans had robot suits or if it was a man vs robot game. But TSR went so far as to aslo list the first 4 modules for it MX1 Planet Fall, MX2 Silent Thunder, MX3 Warbots Rising, and MX4 Warbots Embattled.”
Now who wants to run off and create a game titled “Proton Fire” and make this thing real?
