Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars Toys on Sale in 1983
One thing that yesterday’s D&D ad also included that deserves a closer look is a batch of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars toys on sale. Actually, I’m gonna go ahead and call these clearance prices; the ad says of the Well of Souls playset that it’s “Way, way below cost!” and I can believe it.
Kenner’s Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark toys on clearance. How can we not love an ad like this one, especially when so many of those Star Wars Micro Collection toys make an appearance in the ad? I continue to love the hell out of those Google newspaper archives!

@Piratestan – I love seeing the artwork and prices in these old ads. Makes me wish we saw some original line art for today’s toys.
Me too. Actually, I wish there was more original art on the boxes themselves, as opposed to CG renders or toy photos. Transformers Generations is doing an okay job of that at the moment though.
