Reading – P*V*C

Again, as with a lot of toy books, it’s less reading than it is flipping through pictures. P*V*C, Pheyden’s Vacation Chronicle, isn’t your usual sort of book, though, since this is a book I put together out of Glyos System toy photos from my recent vacation. 80-pages of full-color photos, Gobon and my Sincroid grabbed the book as soon as it arrived and started flipping through it.

The boys admired the cover and then forced the book open; 80-pages isn’t much for me but these little guys had to strain a little to get the book opened up so that they could start flipping though the pages.

Page after page of toy photos, including a little text (identification of the main toy in each shot as well as the location). This was a lot of fun to put together and I think I’m gonna have to drag a bunch of my resin and custom toys out somewhere cool and take enough shots for another book.

Thank you to Matt at Onell Design for creating such awesome toys that traveled so well; thank you to Steve at Steve Jackson Games for giving me enough time off so that I could drive around the county; and thank you to my wife, Gina, for putting up with me (and even encouraging me!) as I spent tons of time staring at natural wonders through the eyes of 3-inch toys.

  1. Oh wow, I didn’t even know you worked at SJG. Anyway, this looks righteous! The title alone drips with class…

  2. That is a great book! For legal reasons could you only make one ; )?
Seriously though, I would definitely like to know if you’re planning on making more.

  3. @monsterforge and clark – These will be sold very soon. Unfortunately, the process makes them expensive so the cost will probably be $30.

  4. @The Articulated One – Thanks. I’m going to do everything I can to get the price lower, but I doubt I can make this work at less than $25. And it’s not a limited run or anything since it’s a POD book.

  5. @monsterforge – Matt’s copy mails out tomorrow. I printed three copies so that I could give one to Matt and one to Steve.
