Ever since I was a very, very young child I’ve loved “How To Draw” books. Those books hold so much promise, swearing that with some pencil, paper, a ruler, an eraser, and the book in your hands you’ll soon be drawing awesome pieces of art. Well, we all know it takes a bit more work than that but this sort of book is still fun to flip through. And DK’s You Can Draw Transformers is as good as any “You Can Draw” book that I’ve ever seen. 96-pages long, and taking you from pencil basics to constructing comic pages, this book has everything I’ve ever needed to make me imagine that I could draw Transformers. I can, sure, but not like the art you see in this book.

Written by Simon Furman (who wrote the very fun Transformers Generation 2 comics, and illustrated by Guido Guidi, this is a professional book that’s worth snagging if you’ve ever wanted to pretend that you can draw Transformers. I found mine very cheap — I think I paid about $8 — and it was well worth the price.

  1. I think you should post some of the drawings this book will inspire you to do. You obviously have a gift for creation, as evidenced by your kick-butt Crayboth painting you showed a while back!

  2. @Monsterforge – If I end up with anything I like then I’ll be sure to post it.
