Review – Adventure Kartel Ten Finger Gang #9
#9 is one of eleven different colorways of the Ten Finger Gang (see the 3A Wiki). The guy’s basically the Junglevet (review here) body and hands combined with the earlier-released Zombot head. The jumpsuit and belt/bags are also near-identical to earlier toys we’ve looked at, so overall this is a parts and pieces reuse . . . and it still looks great on the shelf.
Love Those Hands!
Unlike the Ankou and Johnson (review here) claws, the Ten Finger Gang uses articulated hands which makes them far more capable of holding weapons . . . such as the submachine gun that comes in the box with #9. And unlike Junglevet (review here), #9 can slip his trigger finger through the guard so he can use his weapon. Yay!
#9!!!
Ben Mininberg (blog, Twitter) reviewed #9 at CollectionDX and loaded the page down with pics. And Ben picked up on something in his review that I find myself agreeing with:
Posable fingers and highly posable 1/6 bodies combine to make a figure that can do faaaaantastic gun aiming poses. 1/6 military guys are always striving to achieve realism, but I think the stylized stuff ends up painting a more convincing picture.
It’s the poseability and design of these figures that makes them so much fun to play with and photograph. Finding good backdrops for 12-inch scale action figures is tough — especially on a cold day when I don’t want to go outside — but some creative uses of books can actually work well. The below photo, for example, uses Ashley Wood’s Mompty Tom Tom Comics hardcover (see the 3A Wiki) as a backdrop. And looking at that makes me start to think I should slap some paint on a large sheet of canvas board to create a backdrop for some later photo shoots. I’ll have to think about that idea.
These Are Tough to Review
With the basic body identical, and almost every single figure wearing the exact same jumpsuit, reviewing so many Adventure Kartel 12-inch scale figures (Amazon.com search*) in the past few weeks makes it difficult to say anything new or exciting. The toys are well-constructed and look fantastic together, but what can be said that I haven’t said already?

Closing Thoughts
Between this and my earlier reviews of the Adventure Kartel 12-inch scale action figures (Amazon.com search*) you should have a very clear idea of what to expect from the line. The toys pose well, look awesome, and — unsurprisingly — work better in groups than as single display pieces.
I need a large diorama for these toys. I will now search the web to see what good options are out there that look appropriate for these Ashley Wood action figure designs.
