Review – DC Hot Wheels Killer Croc
When I found the DC Hot Wheels restock at Walmart (mentioned here) I just had to grab this crazy Killer Croc car. Windows like eyes. Teeth. A snoot-like hood and grill. Seriously, guys, how was I supposed to say no to this incredible toy car?
Sculpt
Unlike the Lizard car I reviewed recently (review here) this Killer Croc car was designed specifically for the character. And it’s a gorgeous example of toy car design and shows exactly why I prefer Hot Wheels to any other brand of toy car: Hot Wheels cars are simply more imaginative and fun in their stylings and designs than any other cars out there. Unique looks that don’t resemble real cars, great colors, and the (often) low price just make — in my mind — Hot Wheels toy cars the best cars available.
Paint
As clean and sharp as we expect from Hot Wheels cars. I love the coloring — the blue detail work over the green metal is very nice — and the bright green plastic chassis is a nice touch. As often happens with Hot Wheels toy cars I have no complaints at all with the paintwork.
I’ll Keep Quiet
When it comes to Hot Wheels we know we can expect great work, and this Killer Croc car is a great addition to the entire DC Hot Wheels series. I could ramble on, but instead I’ll get on with my day and let the photos do the work. A fantastic car and very recommended to Batman fans.
I have almost picked this up several times, but one thing has stopped me. I’m buying cars that I think look like something the character would actually drive. I know that’s not the purpose of the line, but that’s what interests me. So Joker, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, even Bane; work great for me. I just don’t see Killer Croc going around gotham in this.
Nevertheless, very cool car.
