Review – Kubrick Franken Berry
Franken Berry — sometimes also identified as Frankenberry — has been created in toy form a surprising number of times (Amazon.com search*) and today I want to direct your attention to this small Kubrick action figure. And by small I mean that the little guy stands on 2.75-inches tall . . . tall enough to be adorable!
Kubricks Are Basic
While I have only reviewed a handful of Kubrick action figures in the past — Kubrick Violator review, Kubrick Spawn review, and Metal Gear Solid Kubrick Iroquois Pliskin review — that doesn’t change the fact that these are tiny and fairly basic toys. These are more like Minimates or Minifigs than true action figures, and Franken Berry here is so very top heavy that I dare not do more than stand him perfectly upright.
Fun Sculpt, Simple Paint
One benefit of the Franken Berry design is that it doesn’t take much to nail the character. A Frankenstein’s Monster-like beast made entirely of shades of pink, Franken Berry as a Kubrick works quite well and, as the photos show, looks perfect. I’d go on and on about the toy but there really isn’t a lot to say; check my older Kubrick reviews if you really want to know more about the line.
Not For All of You!
1. It’s Franken Berry. 2. It’s a Kubrick. Add those two points together and I know for a fact that not many battlegrip.com readers will find this toy interesting or enjoyable. But those of you who do love the design and character will like the pics, and I think that’s enough of my chatter for the day.
Check back soon for more random nonsense . . . and I do have more Franken Berry I have never shared on the site so you never know when he’ll be back.
