Review – Matchbox On A Mission: International MXT MVA/Stealth Launch
With their Matchbox On A Mission series (Amazon.com search*) Mattel is producing sets of toys designed to function together. This International MXT MVA/Stealth Launch is a combat set, and I can honestly say the only reason I grabbed this pack was because it included a new Stealth Launch colorway. I love this jet!
A Great Concept
I know when I was a kid and into toy cars I had a few toy planes and sometimes played spy and combat with the toys, so seeing Mattel’s Matchbox On A Mission series (Amazon.com search*) makes perfect sense to me since it’s such a very simple idea and really allows for some fun vehicle combinations. There’s no complicated thought involved in enjoying these toys; just grab and go, kids!
International MXT MVA
This Humvee-like military vehicle looks cool and all, but I really did only buy this package for the yellow Stealth Launch toy so my thoughts on the International MXT MVA boil down to:
- Why isn’t it colored to match the jet?
- My Hot Wheels toy cars look way cooler.
- Hey, Mattel, why isn’t this colored to match the jet?
Stealth Launch
This isn’t the first time I’ve posted a review of the Stealth Launch toy to battlegrip.com. This Matchbox Sky Busters Stealth Launch review from June of 2012 shows off not only the toy jet, but also shows off three different colorways of the exact same toy. And now I have a fourth version of the jet!
The entire design of the jet is fantastic, from the swept-forward wings to the green-tinted canopy. But as with many reviews where I touch on an exact same design we’ve looked at before I will just show you photos and suggest you read my first Stealth Launch review for more about the actual toy.
Closing Thoughts
The Matchbox On A Mission series (Amazon.com search*) comes in a variety of packaging sizes and price points, with the International MXT MVA/Stealth Launch set shown here the smallest (and cheapest! Only $4!) packaging style out there.
The car is going into a box or something, I’m sure, but the Stealth Launch is already on display with the other Matchbox Sky Busters* toys in my collection. And this won’t be the last jet in the series I buy. Nope, I want more toy planes.
