Review – Star Wars: The Force Awakens PZ-4CO Cereal Toy
Yesterday we looked at Hasbro’s PZ-4CO action figure (review here). Great toy, grab one, and apparently just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to collectibles based on the new droid design. Today I’d like to share this simple cereal toy as we wait for The Force Awakens to reach theaters.
Cereal Time!
Packed inside marked boxes of various General Mills cereals (see the General Mills site for details), these little plastic toys stand two to three inches tall and are simple constructions with a basic gimmick inside: Look through the viewfinder and see a photo of the droid!
These aren’t particularly incredible or shocking, but the joy of pulling a toy out of a box of cereal cannot be ignored. It’s especially entertaining since General Mills is behind the promotion; General Mills once owned Kenner, so they’ve got more than a little experience with Star Wars toys and promotions.
Seriously, it’s a very simple toy!
I hope you weren’t expecting anything beyond what you see here because this toy is as basic as they come. Tampo logo and droid name, pearlized plastic, and the viewfinder are it. Period. What you see in the photos is what you get, even if the toys are randomly packed so you’ll have to buy several boxes of cereal if you want to collect a complete set.
I shot a quick video of the view finder in action; press play on the video for a whole six seconds of footage showing the image seen through the view finder toy.
And . . . done. See, this was a really simple toy.
