Robo Force, Masters of the Universe, and Transformers at Playland Toy Stores in 1984

November 21, 1984. One forgotten brand, one favorite of the eighties, and an eighties success story that’s going strong today stand out most of all of the toylines offered in this 1984 advertisement. Robo Force never really took off; the robot designs were likely too retro in style to compete with the Transformers and GoBots, and that’s unfortunate since the Robo Force designs are truly fabulous works of art. And hey, I still love those suction cup bases!
