Robot Art by Robert Manns in Space Gamer Magazine

Over two years ago, I posted a robot illustration from a 1978 issue of Space Gamer magazine (find at Amazon.com*), showing the world a wonderful and forgotten drawing that was created in a more innocent time. You see, art like this wouldn’t work all that well in roleplaying games published today, but when the art was new, it was perfectly serviceable and everything worked just fine.

Well, I went back into the Space Gamer issues of the past and ran across another robot illustration. Space Gamer #21, published in 1979, includes the above art by Robert Manns. This time, the art was simply filler and not illustrating an article, but that doesn’t detract at all from such a fun robot design and artwork that, as I look at it, makes me happy. We need more seventies robot art, right?
