Rom the Space Knight on Sale in 1979
Rom as a toy was a bit of a failure for Parker Brothers back in the late seventies. A giant and expensive action figure, Rom didn’t fit the Parker Brothers catalog and never really had enough of a following to succeed. The comic book actually did better than the toy! Retailers did try to sell the toy, though, as we see in this 1979 newspaper ad. How many of us would pay that price for a MIB Rom today?
