Ronald Malfi’s “Snow” Available at Dark Fuse
Dark Fuse books is offering Snow, a horror novel by Ronald Malfi, in paperback and in electronic format. I missed the limited edition version, but the title and concept have caught my eye; I’ve mentioned before (here and in some of my old roleplaying game works) that winter and snow always appeal to me as a setting. Many old Dungeons and Dragons adventures I ran were set in wintery places because the cold and snow gives such a great sense of isolation and because the weather can turn terrible at any moment.
Todd Curry wants nothing more than to spend Christmas with his son. But when a brutal snowstorm cancels his flight from Chicago to Des Moines, Todd and a few other stranded passengers decide to rent a Jeep and make the trip on their own. During the drive, they pick up a man wandering through the snow, who claims to be searching for his lost daughter. He is disoriented and his story seems peculiar. Strangest of all are the mysterious slashes cut into the back of the man’s coat, straight down to the flesh…
The book’s also available from Amazon in both print* and a Kindle edition* so those of you unfamiliar with Dark Fuse can get the story without signing up with a new site.
BUT, I have to say that if you enjoy horror fiction then you should join the Dark Fuse website. I’ve been quite happy with the service and it’s nice to directly support the authors and small press publishers.
