Seriously Enjoying Android: Free Fall
I am over half of the way through the new novel from Fantasy Flight Games, Free Fall*, a cyberpunk-styled murder mystery set in the world of their Android* boardgame. (See my Android boardgame review from 2008.)
And in the “proof Phil likes game fiction” department the book is written by William Kieth, author of BattleTech: Decision at Thunder Rift*. Why does that even need to be mentioned? Because that BattleTech novel was the first one that I ever read . . . over twenty years ago. I know that’s not really important to anyone, but I thought it kinda fun that after two decades I’m still enjoying game fiction by the same author.
I will definitely get a “Reading” post on battlegrip.com just as soon as I can. There’s a pretty good chance I’ll finish the book today while flying home from GenCon, but the next two weeks are going to be overwhelming as we try to prepare for PAX. But I’ll see what I can do about getting my full review online soonish.
For more about the book see the office page at the FFG website. There you can read the first three chapters and find some teaser info.
