“Somewhere it Snows” by TC McCarthy Available Now

TC McCarthy (website, Twitter), author of the sci-fi novels Germline* and Exogene*, has just released a new short story in digital format for just $0.99. At that price, and because I enjoyed his other work so much, I snagged Somewhere it Snows* and plan to read it on the flight to Hong Kong later this week.

If you’re unfamiliar with McCarthy’s work I suggest starting with Germline*, a near-future military sci-fi in which a combat journalist becomes a hardened combatant. It’s a great read, even if it gets pretty wicked at times and can be quite brutal.
