“Spawn of an Empire” from the 1999 McFarlane Toys Catalog
After yesterday’s pages from the 1999 McFarlane Toys catalogs I wanted to dig a little deeper into the catalog and pull out these four pages in which Todd McFarlane gives us some thoughts on his work, the industry, and how he managed to grow Spawn over seven years of hard work.
“As 1998 saw McFarlane’s work in the pages of Bikini and Raygun magazines, 1999 will continue to explore new territory into publications within the business and computing sectors.”
Great. Now I have to start searching for which issues of Bikini and Raygun McFarlane appeared in in 1998. Also: Ray Gun? Damn, I’ve not heard that name in ages. According to Wikipedia the last issue of Ray Gun was published in 2000. Well, time to start searching for magazines!
