Spotted Online – 10 Totally Forgotten ’80s Girl Toy Lines
This morning I stumbled across 10 Totally Forgotten ’80s Girl Toy Lines at Buzzfeed, and I can honestly say that I only remember 20% of the toys shown in this post. (I remember Sea Wees and Hugga Bunch; all of the others are new to me . . . and I wish I still was unfamiliar with them.)
What a collection of unusual, weird, and simply unexpected toys that help demonstrate just how many ideas were being thrown at kids back in the eighties. The popular toys of the era get the most press, but I’d absolutely love it if someone were to create a book dedicated solely to the failures in the toy aisles that decade. Please? I’d totally buy such a book, especially if it’s packed with pictures.

This was great! I’d never heard of more than half of these. I’m feeling inspired to do a “Failed Toys” feature over at the Lupine Book Club soon.
