Spotted Online – 1980 Fisher-Price Adventure People Alpha Probe Advertisement
We can never get enough of the classic Adventure People toys, right? Fortunately, the internet does its part almost every single day of the week to entertain us, and that’s where this 2 Warps to Neptune post comes into our week. The ad is a bit cropped, there’s no info on which magazine it is from, and despite those issues it’s still a remarkable bit of advertising bliss that makes me smile.

This is one of the best toys ever made! The shuttle program was the hottest thing ever at the time. My teacher would roll in a TV every time there was a launch, and we all watched with baited breath as we sent our astronauts into space for science and the advancement of humanity. Seriously, that’s how it all felt: like the future was finally here. This toy was as close as you could get to holding a shuttle orbiter in your hands. It crossed over into Star Wars and GI Joe. It was just the coolest thing. I’ll say it again: FP needs to bring this toy line back!
