Spotted Online – “5 Extremely Dumb Military Designs from G.I. Joe”

pogo

You can tell there’s a movie because even Popular Mechanics is writing about G.I. Joe with their 5 Extremely Dumb Military Designs from G.I. Joe article focusing on some ridiculous designs. The author isn’t a Joe fan, though, or he would surely have identified some of these as dumb military designs. I’d rank a lot of these as dumber than his choices, but maybe it’s just that these are wackier designs than what he chose.

  • Cobra Pogo Ballistic Battle Ball – I may love this weird contraption but I doubt that anyone would say it’s a great or intelligent design.
  • Cobra Pom Pom GunCobra Commander had to get B.A.T.S. because he probably asked one too many human soldiers to wear this thing. I’m betting they asked something along the lines of, “You want me to do what with that thing?”
  • Cobra Battle Barge – Really? You expect me to believe that thing can float? Pull the other one, Destro.
  • Air Chariot – Well, it was piloted by a military leader who was grown in a vat, so maybe this isn’t all that dumb of a vehicle.
  • L.C.V. (Low Crawl Vehicle) – The G.I. Joe team definitely wasn’t immune to the “dumb vehicle” meme that ran through the line. How, exactly, does this thing work?

What do you think is the dumbest G.I. Joe vehicle?

  1. Are you kidding? The Cobra Ballistic Battle Ball would be one of the most devastating leaps forward in weapon technology since the creation of the gatling gun. Once our military gets the springs to work properly on the prototype then our enemies can get two sewing their white flags.

  2. The Road Toad was pretty dumb. Sure, it’s purpose was to retrieve damaged vehicles but I have a hard time believing anyone could drive that thing effectively with such weird seat placement.

  3. This stuff is exactly why I stopped collecting this
    stuff when I was a kid…….I couldn’t keep up,and
the vehicles and figures got too ridiculous.

    Remember the Cobra “Trouble Bubble”?THAT
    was cool.
