Spotted Online – A Flamethrower Guitar That Works
Even if you’re already exhausted from hearing so much about Mad Max: Fury Road over the last week (quick review: Awesome!) you have to appreciate this fact: The guitar/flamethrower combination really worked!
Check out this article at MTV.com to learn all about how this madness was a real, working prop and not a CGI nightmare. The entire contraption was ridiculous in the film — and fun! — and I can’t say that after everything else I’ve read I’m surprised the guitar really shot fire. The film itself may be popcorn mayhem, but the work behind the film was art.

The guy who played the flamethrower guitar guy is actually an Australian singer-songwriter called iOTA, I believe. Much less menacing but no less flamboyant in real life.
