Spotted Online – A Return to Spiral Zone

TheFwoosh contributor “pablolobo” writes “ThreeA is doing something that hasn’t been seen since the mid 80′s they are taking the 12 inch clothed figure to 6 inches and they are doing it superbly. Back in the mid to late 80′s Bandai (and then Tonka) produced a line called Spiral Zone including figures and vehicles a predecessor by decades to the ThreeA.”

An interesting post, and I definitely have never even connected 3A’s World War Robot* with the eighties Spiral Zone series . . . but now that I think about it I can admit that I would love to see 3A take a shot at creating Spiral Zone action figures. Think about it. The Spiral Zone figures are futuristic military designs that would look awesome slightly tweaked by Ashley Wood, and seeing 3A attempt a Monoseed (see spiralzone.com)/Zone Rider Cycle would be well worth the cost of the toys ($50/figure and $250 or so for the cycle would be my guess).

Read the post at TheFwoosh and then visit spiralzone.com. I think you’ll see why I think the property would do well under 3A.

  1. 250 for the bike in 6″ scale? Wow, I was thinking more in the $60 to $80 range based on their other offerings.

You’re right, though, the figures would be amazing.

  2. @Wesitron – I suspect $250 is close; those bikes were massive and have lots of moving parts. But maybe I’m off . . . or maybe $250 would be for one figure and a bike.
