Spotted Online – Acid Rain Sol Commander Review at HISS Tank
Clearly there are some in the G.I. Joe community who are ready for the Acid Rain series of 3.75-inch scale action figures and vehicles. Posted a few months ago, this Sol Commander review shows off 40 pics and gives us a look at how the figure moves and looks alongside Hasbro’s G.I. Joe figures.
The toy looks a bit lanky and strange with the gear removed, but since I’m unlikely to ever strip the figure down to its base body that doesn’t bother me all that much. I am wondering, though, how the Sol Commander will work with various G.I. Joe accessories like the Cobra Para-Viper (review here) equipment. If these Acid Rain figures are that compatible with Hasbro’s G.I. Joe figures from the past six or seven years then customizers are going to have a blast with this new line.
My favorite part of the review, though, has to be the discussion of the toy’s durability. Hurray!!!
“Considering that this is a high end, fully painted piece, one would think that you have to be gentle when playing with….er….displaying your Sol Commander, but I’m pleased to report that this is not the case at all! The Sol Commander is built very well and feels sturdy enough to handle any combat mission.”
And then this is just icing:
“They’re the sturdiest figures I’ve held in a long time. They don’t require a figure stand to hold dynamic poses and they have a wider range of articulation than any Joe figure I’ve ever seen.”
