Spotted Online – Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Picture Transfers
If you enjoyed my look back at the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons toys from 1983 (see “LJN Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Toys”) then you’re going to flip for the Monster Brains post showing off the 1981 Advanced Dungeons And Dragons Instant RUB-DOWN Picture Transfers. And yes, “RUB-DOWN” appears hyphenated and in all caps on the packaging cover.
An awesome product find, but what I am loving most is that these images reminded me that this sort of product even existed when I was a kid. Man, now to search and see what other “RUB-DOWN” product images are hiding online.

I got a bunch of these sets on ebay a few years ago. I’m of course never going for their intended use. I’d hoped to scan them and use them in homebrew campaigns. Now, if I could I only remember where I packed them away….
@Jay – If you find them be sure to share the images!
