Spotted Online – Advice for Better Toy Photos at Cool & Collected
Brian over at coolandcollected.com has some advice for those of you taking photos of toys, and in the post — “What’s going on back there? Taking better toy photos” — he shares with us tricks for staging backgrounds made of common items.

I am fully aware that I take far better clean toy shots than I do artistic and staged shots, but maybe by using some of Brian’s suggestions — combined with some experimentation and time — I can also get better at the “toy with background” approach to toy photography. Click through and check the article for more side-by-side shots showing a staged pic and what Brian used to set the scene.
Great post, Brian! You’ve inspired me to try my hand at some fun pics.
