Spotted Online – Another Frost Giant Review
There’s a review at That Figures so if you want a second opinion about the recently-released Thor Invasion Frost Giant action figure (my review is here) then now’s your chance, but Iok seems to hate the figure even more than I do.
Terrible, terrible situation that Hasbro appears to have rushed this Thor line. Of course I’ve only opened and reviewed one of the figures so it’s unfair to call the entire line bad, but at the moment there aren’t any other figures in the line that interest me. I do hope that this Invasion Frost Giant is not at all representative of the quality of the upcoming Captain America line; it would suck if those toys were rushed.
I really hate being negative about something somebody has produced. I know a team of designers and artists and production people invested a lot of time and effort into making this figure and clearly their intention wasn’t to release something so hideous, but that’s what happens sometimes and that’s what happened here.
I think what I’m most annoyed about, personally, is that I put a GI Joe Jungle Viper (which I’ve seen getting excellent reviews) back on the pegs in favour of this toy.
@Iok – Maybe when you get that Jungle Viper he can donate his gear to upgrade the Frost Giant. I wonder if that cool camo gear would fit on the giant.
The Jungle Viper is the one in the ghillie suit, so I think that would do an excellent job of hiding the Frost Giant!
