Spotted Online – Batman Crossovers at Topless Robot

I’m sure you’ve all hit Topless Robot before. A site dedicated to the nerdly arts and insanity of geekdom, I don’t always agree with the opinions posted at the site but it always entertains me. And there’s nothing as much fun as the “Top X” lists that appear on the site on a fairly regular basis.

And that leads us to The 5 Coolest and 5 Strangest Batman Comic Crossovers, a listing that’s sorely lacking. I mean, how could they completely skip the Grendel and Hellboy crossovers? Either one of those was way cooler than the Spider-Man crossover.

It’s a fun read, but don’t blame me if your eyes explode out of your head when you hit the last panel on #3 in the strangest list. I never read that particular crossover book, but damn if the art doesn’t completely make me want to start destroying my comic collection. That is one distorted Batman . . . and not distorted in a good way. How did that art ever get published?

  1. Loves me some John Romita Jr. artwork. He’s been one of my faves since his early days. His style is kind of exaggerated, but I love it– it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. My brother hates his work. He’s the illustrator of World War Hulk and Kickass.
