Spotted Online – Cryotron Action Figure Carrying Case
I’ve written about carrying cases before (see “Missing: The Action Figure Carrying Case”), but it was only recently that I discovered the Cryotron carrying case from 1980. It was, not surprisingly, Plaid Stallions where I first discovered the spaceship-like carrying case. It looks massive, and with the space to hold 40 3.75-inch scale action figures (Star Wars, kids, but don’t tell) there was plenty of room for most kids to make this a great eighties toy and carrying case.
That one Plaid Stallions post wasn’t enough for me, though, so I soon set off in search of more information. That quickly led me to many more pics of the carrying case at womprat.com. Awesome! This looks like I would have loved it as a kid and, as the post says, the entire concept would be visited again in the nineties when Kenner released the Millenium Falcon Carrying Case*.
