Spotted Online – Custom Star Wars Rebel Blockade Runner Playset
Posted at the rebelscum.com forums (way back in 2009) are pics of a custom Kenner-style Star Wars playset. Including custom packaging, this paper playset by HanShotFirst (and inspired by work by Nick McCarthy) represents the Rebel Blockade Runner and there’s even a photo of the playset inner materials (including a “We Really Do Care” flyer).
Okay, this is inspirational and makes me add “design custom paper playset” to the list of projects I want to tackle one of these days.

Ah man, I would have pulled the ears off a gundark to have one of these as a kid. I still mourn the loss of the Rebel Blockade Runner that never was: http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=48884
WHY this wasn’t made into a real toy–even years later, is still heartbreaking. Though they did make a few other versions (action fleet and a larger electronic version) they never did do a 3.75″ figure toy.
