Spotted Online – Do You Remember Ordering from Scholastic Books in the Eighties?

You must see this Secret Fun Blog post where Kirk D dives into an overview of all of the amazing books, posters, and stuff he got during the early eighties by ordering from Scholastic and the like. So many awesome books in one place! Damn, I remember the excitement of ordering and seeing this again makes me wish that our games at the office were getting into these catalogs. I’m gonna have to work on that.

Troll, Scholastic, Weekly Reader Book Club and the hallowed School Book Fairs Inc.— these are the fine organizations that enabled young me to curate my own closet shelf library. For anyone unfamiliar, every month or two (depending on your teacher) students were presented with a four page order form that offered a selection of books, posters, stickers, and school supplies, many of which catered to the upcoming holiday or season.
