Spotted Online – Fun G.I. Joe: Sigma 6 Photography
The more I dig into the G.I. Joe: Sigma 6 toys (Amazon.com search*) the more anxious I get for my first few to arrive so I can play with them. And searching online makes me think I made a massive mistake by ignoring these when they were first released. I love the look of the designs . . . now.
One of the things I uncovered was this thread at hisstank.com, posted a few months ago, where forum user Monte Williams posted some fun outdoor shots of Sigma 6 action figures in . . . well, in action. These photos just make me more upset with myself that I didn’t recognize the coolness of the line when it was in stores.

I really want that Gung-Ho figure
It was a fun series. I have a few of these guys too. Firefly was an interesting character.
It’s an incredible line. The biggest issue was that it followed up perhaps the best-designed action figure line of all time. No matter what Joe did after 3 3/4, it was bound to have issues.
@Hedrock – I think we’re gonna need a support group or something.
@Spatula007 – I’m having a tough time finding a definitive list of what was released. And the change between 2006/2007 isn’t documented all that well in any place I’ve looked. Got any links to good info on the line?
@John K. – So, I’ll just assume that somewhere in your mountain of fun toys is every Sigma 6 release ever. Am I close? 🙂
Battlelines has some good info on the releases: http://s6c.joebattlelines.com/toys_8inch.htm
I’m not sure if its definitive but it looks like it covers most figures
I’m with Hedrock. Battlelines was the site I used too.
@Hedrock – Yeah, I’ve been looking at that very closely. I think part of what’s confusing me is that it looks like “Sigma 6” was dropped from the title in 2007 but the toys continued. I’ll look it over again, though, and see if I can better understand the terminology of “Commando” and “Soldier” figures.
Commando and soldier are the price points. Soldier are the carded figures while commando are the boxed ones with the ammo crate packaging.
