Spotted Online – Ghouls of Miskatonic Spotlight at FFG
The upcoming Arkham Horror* novel, Ghouls of Miskatonic*, just might be at GenCon this week (fingers crossed). Note that this is just me speculating that FFG will advance ship some copies over; I haven’t seen any word online that the book will be there.
But regardless of whether or not the book is at GenCon this week there’s a new article at the Fantasy Flight Games website in which author Graham McNeill talks about working on the book. This is the latest in a series of previews/articles over at the site and each one has me looking forward to giving the book a shot. Cthulhu fans may want to try this out once it hits store shelves, but that’s something you’ll have to decide. Me? I still hope I can pick up a copy this week when I’m in Indianapolis.
My first aim was to tell a story that moved at a brisk pace, one that took you by the throat and didn’t loosen its clawed grip until the last page (and even then, you’d be dragged screaming into the next one…). All too often horror stories spend so much time on building atmosphere that the plot gets lost along the way. That wouldn’t happen with Ghouls.
