Spotted Online – GoBots in the 1985 Tonka Toy Fair Catalog
Yesterday we took a quick peek at the 1984 GoBots toy catalog (post here). That was fun, but GoBots didn’t stop there and neither are we . . . because today we’re checking out the GoBots section of the 1985 Tonka Toy Fair catalog. Twenty pages of GoBots action from a time before Transformers completely wiped GoBots from store shelves.

You know, the more I see these, the more I think I like the old marketing material than the actual toys themselves.
@Court – The marketing material takes a lot less space to store! Actually, that’s part of the reason I enjoy books about toys. I can fit an entire “collection” in one nice book on my shelf. And I can then carry the “collection” anywhere very easily.
This gives me an idea . . .
Greatness!
I think Court hit the nail on the head. The catalog-effect is a strong one to resist, and sometimes the actual toys were a let down. The evil GoBot command center is pretty cool in spaceship form though.
