Spotted Online – Han Solo in the New Star Wars Film?
TheForce.Net is reporting a rumor that Harrison Ford has signed on for the upcoming Star Wars movie. If this is true then it follows a random statement I made years ago when the talk of a Star Wars television series was floating around. Basically, set the series (or, in this case, movie) late enough after Return of the Jedi so that you can bring the original characters back for special events; you know, like series premier or the final episode of a season . . . that ends in a cliffhanger.
Hopefully this rumor is true, but if it is then I also hope that the new movie doesn’t feature all of the old characters but instead has them in minor supporting roles. Such as Carrie Fisher’s voice being used as a CG Princess Leia hologram message gives information, Mark Hamill appearing as an aged Jedi Master at the start of the movie and then dying in the first ten to fifteen minutes to give some new bad a really strong introduction, and so on.
R2-D2 and C-3PO must be in all three of the new moviews.
