Spotted Online – Jim Aparo Batman Original Art for Sale

Jim Aparo (Wikipedia) is one of the great Batman artists of my childhood, primarily filling my mind with the Batman I think of whenever someone just says the name of the character. Aparo’s style was clean, detailed, and now I see that a number of originals are for sale at fairly low prices. For example, the page below (from Batman: Ten Nights of the Beast*) is only $30. Sure there are no main characters in the image, but this is one of those classic pages that grabbed me when I first read the story. I remember this mini-series in the Batman books as one of those storylines that helped hook me on the comics.

And there are several more images available. The prices start to climb on some — the first page of Batman #498, shown below, is $300, but that’s actually not a bad price at all for such a great work of art. I suggest looking at the site whether you collect original art or not. Besides, if I’m gonna be tempted by art then you need to be tempted by art.
