Spotted Online – Jock’s “Ava Evolved” Art Book Pre-Orders Now Open
Limited to 500 copies, Ava Evolved is up for pre-order from 2000AD. The book’s set for release at SDCC in a few weeks, and before I figured out that I could pre-order off the web I was racing through scenarios trying to figure out if I could be at the 2000AD booth when the con opens.
Jock was the concept artist on Ex Machina*, and after seeing the recent Empire post sharing some of the work I just had to get my hands on this artbook.
Now the one downside to pre-ordering is that I have to wait longer to get the book — online pre-orders ship in August — but not having to wait in line AND not being forced to carry the book home is worth the wait.
Oh, and there is another downside to pre-ordering online. Since the book ships from England there’s a shipping cost involved, but even that’s worth it just to guarantee there are no headaches or issues with scoring the book.
I’ve not yet seen Ex Machina*, but maybe that’s something Gina and I can watch next weekend before I head out to SDCC for work.
I’m not a huge fan of Jock’s art style, but I did love the Green Arrow: Year One miniseries he did a few years ago — 2007-2008ish? You can pick it up pn Comixology quite easily.
@Wolf – Got that. Fun story and great artwork. His “Black Mirror” Batman is also a blast.
