Spotted Online – KFC Surgeon Pics
I posted my KFC Mugan Vox review last weekend, and now we get several pics of the white variant of their not-Perceptor toy in the Surgeon set at Facebook.
I may have missed some important bit of Transformers history here and could use any help you guys can offer: Is this toy more than just that mold in white? I mean, is there some official Transformers fiction or toy release I’ve missed that makes the Surgeon more than just a repaint?

He’s supposed to be an homage to Scalpel from the Michael Bay movies. Hence the awful, bug-eyed face. Honestly, it feels and smells like a cash grab to me. Kind of like repainting the same Perceptor mold into Soundwave. Which seems to have worked to possibly bankroll other way more awesome projects like KFC’s not- Ultra Magnus.
@rosewater – Aha, I’m not into the movies so it’s easy for me to miss that reference.
As to repaints, I’ve no problem with them since it’s such a great way to help fund stuff. We either buy or don’t, our call. Plus: I like multiples of a cool toy in a variety of colors.
