Spotted Online – Masters of the Universe Classics Snake Face Reviewed at It’s All True
Check out the It’s All True Snake Face review if you’re looking for some idea of what last month’s Masters of the Universe Classics series (Amazon.com search*) release looks like. The snakes from the face of Snake Face looks great, even if today’s version on the toy doesn’t use the 1987 gimmick of the snakes actually coming out of the head. Actually, it’s kinda too bad that the new line completely abandoned action features . . .
I imagine we’ll also see his shorts show up on a few characters in the future. They have sculpted scales all around and are topped off by a fairly generic belt.
Yes, looking at the design I can see where Mattel could get some good reuse out of the fairly generic design of the crotch and belt piece. To be fair, though, the new design is a nice update to the same piece on the original toy (see he-man.org) so it’s clear to me that this was designed for Snake Face. It’s just icing that it’s generic enough for easy reuse.
My own Snake Face remains unopened and is likely to stay that way. The next 45 to 60 days is loaded with work and travel so finding the time for everything I want to do is a bit more challenging than usual.
