Spotted Online – Masters of the Universe Thunder Punch He-Man Review by Poe Ghostal
If there’s one thing Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics series (Amazon.com search*) has done well, it’s adapt classic action figures to the modern line. Even though the new toys are without the “action features” — also known as “gimmicks” by some — of the toys of the eighties, they have elements that resemble the old features.
And that’s where Poe Ghostal’s Thunder Punch He-Man review enters the picture. Released in 1985, the original Thunder Punch He-Man (see he-man.org) included a cap gun inside the backpack; caps are an awesome consumable toy for kids since they go “bang!” and let off a lot of smoke.
The new toy doesn’t include the cap gun feature but, as Poe’s review shows, Mattel included some cap-like accessories for those of you who remember the vintage toy and want something similar today.
