Spotted Online – Nag, Nag, Nag
Nag, nag, nag. That’s all you guys ever do. Oh, wait. Sorry, I didn’t realize that NagNagNag is merely the NagNagNag Frankenruge Boryoku Genjin vinyl toy, whatever the hell it is. Voodoo doll? Evil puppet? Terrible eyesore that’s oddly exciting? I can’t identify this monstrosity, but Kaiju Chronicle tells us that ten of these were sold through a lottery system for 16,000 yen . . . each. That’s $180 for each toy.
This is one of those Japanese vinyl toys that has me on the fence. It’s a wild, insane design that’s creepy as hell but I do not understand the price tag. It’s gotta be the limited run and customized, hand-crafted nature of the toy. No matter, though, since we can enjoy the photos and progress of the toy in this Skullbrain thread.
So anyone want to place bets on how many months/years will pass before I’m designing and manufacturing my own vinyl toy? Because all that happens when I see especially crude, monstrous works like this is my brain goes: “You could do that.” And trust me, I mean crude and monstrous as complements. I love the smooth, machined look of a lot of vinyl toys, but the obviously hand-sculpted works excite me . . . maybe even more than the clean line/smooth surface toys.

You don’t want anything to do with this toy or manufacturer, trust me… it’s a status piece, and brings out the worst in the ‘vinyl crowd’. This sculpt gets flipped for $400+, and is all hype and ‘coolness’.
Ben; this whole toy game is pretty much filled with status pieces and thats why its here. Why are you bocking at the price when you have some toys in your collection that you’ve paid good money for. This is just another creator in the scene and for some reason you dont want to accept it.
Another reason there’s a lot of “hype”/ demand for these is because there’s a highly respected artist working on a lot of these, Lamour puts out some crazy stuff.
Dope Nagnagnag.. Keep em coming
