Spotted Online – One Awesome Robot Toy
Well, the official name appears to be Dynamite Action! No.1 Kotetsushin Jeeg (Previous Gen.) [Miyazawa Model Limited Clear Colored Edition], but since I know absolutely nothing beyond this looks awesome I’m sticking with the title I’ve selected for the post. The toy is up for pre-order now at AmiAmi, but at $144.15 (and that’s before shipping) it’s one pricey work of art.
According to the product description this is made of plastic, metal, and uses magnets so even though it’s just over 6-inches tall I suspect that the run is limited enough that the price isn’t out of line. I’ve seen more and more complaints online about toy pricing lately, and while I understand we’re in a bad economy right now it’s important to remember that design and tooling a new toy is expensive. Would I like one of these? I think so, but at the price I’ll just be happy to see the photos.

Holy crap, that’s awesome! It looks really similar to the Magno-Powered Micronauts like Baron Karza. I wonder if this is intended to be an upgrade of those toys.
That is gorgeous!
What’s the old Sofubi line that Super 7 takes so much inspiration from? The one that first put pipe cleaners in clear figures? Reminds me of those.
@Nate – the original source for this product is Steel Geeg, from the creator of Mazinger Z.
His original toy was brought over by Mego to make Baron Karza and Force Commander (with new heads) in the original Micronauts line.
In the cartoon (which I have never seen), a kid gets the power to turn into the head of Geeg and has power over magnets. He had a lot of other gimmicks and such that Mego never brought over as Micronauts that can be surprising upon first glance.
@DoctorKent – You really need to download your toy knowledge into a website so that we can all enjoy it.
@Phil Reed – Toyfinity.com. Believe it.
ASTRO-MU 5!!! That’s what I was thinking of! It looks like Astro Mu…
Why are you all looking at me like that?
