Spotted Online – Original Star Wars Mini-Rig Concept Models
A few days ago I shared an unproduced Star Wars Mini-Rig design that I found while searching for information on the classic Kenner toys (posted here). Unsurprisingly, that wasn’t the only cool scrap of Star Wars Mini-Rig hiding at theswca.com so as I dug deeper into the Mini-Rigs it wasn’t too long before I came across this article on the original Mini-Rig concept models.
Written by Robert Musco of Behind the Toys, the piece discusses the initial designs and shows us six different scratch-built toy models that were the beginning of the Star Wars Mini-Rig line. I wish there were better — and larger! — photos of the concept models online, but when digging for ancient history on unproduced Kenner Star Wars toys I’ll take anything I can find.
