Spotted Online – Prometheus Engineer Review by Poe Ghostal
I have not seen Prometheus — reviews of the film kept me from the theater — but when the toys were announced (first mentioned here) I just didn’t understand why NECA would release these after the movie was in theaters. I still don’t understand, but yesterday while walking through the NYCC hall I saw these toys and almost bought both of them. They looked great in the packaging and I was pretty sure the $20 price tag was about right, but the memory of my last NECA action figure (Resident Evil Vector review here) had me pass on the toys.
Now that I see this Engineer review I’m starting to reconsider the two Prometheus action figures. Poe’s review makes me kinda regret skipping the two toys when I saw them yesterday, and since today’s my last day at NYCC I’m thinking I may go take a second look at them before I leave the convention. The designs do look incredible . . . I’m just worried about the actual quality of the toys. But I should remember that the Final Frontier Eddie (review here) made me very happy and give NECA another try.
Take a look at Poe’s Engineer review and then watch stores if you want this guy. That sculpt really looks amazing.

I just rented Prometheus this weekend….meh. Watch the “How it Should have Ended” version, its way more entertaining!
I can’t speak for everyone, but when I reviewed this guy I must have said “go out and buy him” at least ten times. For me, everything just worked perfectly. Sculpt, articulation, engineering, price point, everything was just slightly better than I’d hoped. Love this thing.
So I’m hearing “skip movie, buy toy” from many people.
