Spotted Online – Ralph Niese’s Retro-Style Glyos Covers

After his awesome work on the Gendrone Chronicles comic artist Ralph Niese brings us these retro-styled Glyos System covers. I know these are designed as comic covers, but to me they look more like late sixties/early seventies paperback covers. But regardless of what they are, both pieces are great and well worth taking a moment or two to look at.

What would be really cool would be to get a paperback book — even something as short as a novella — that was set in the Glyos System and used artwork along these lines. Something with the feel of the very first Star Wars “Expanded Universe” novels I read before I turned 10. You know, Han Solo At Stars’ End* and Splinter of the Mind’s Eye*.

And great. Now that I thought of those books I want to read them again. Well, at least they’re both very quick reads. And fun, if I’m remembering them well. The last time I read either one of these was 14 or 15 years ago.
