Spotted Online – Scott Whitworth’s “Frankenstein’s Monster” Resin Kit

It has been a few months since we last looked at the Whitworth Sculpture Studio website (mentioned here), but this new Frankenstein’s Monster bust demands that we sit up and pay attention to the artistry of Scott Whitworth.

I love that fact that Frankenstein* is so old that the story and characters are in the public domain, because it means that artists can give us their own interpretations of the characters (especially the monster). And this particular representation on the classic character really drives home the sadness of the story and the monster, with its deep eyes and depressed appearance showing us that Whitworth went more for the monster as a tragic victim than simply a monster. Great work.
