Spotted Online – Sears Star Fortress Playset at JKM
A few days ago I wrote about the Star Fortress, a 1978 playset that was offered in the Sears Christmas catalog. The playset is one that was created for use with Kenner Star Wars action figures — even if it didn’t claim to be part of the series — and served as either a massive tower or a very large playscape. It really looks awesome and I’m certain I would have loved this if I’d had it in the early eighties.
Well, turns out that even today older kids can have a lot of fun with the Star Fortress playset. As this post at JKM shows us, the playset can be a lot of fun to assemble and prepare for play.
My favorite part of the post? Seeing the link to an even earlier post about the Interplanetary Star Fortress playset, proving I’m not the only one who can be a sucker and order a cool thing from my childhood as soon as I remember that it even existed.
