Spotted Online – SpiritMama Art Dolls
Every now and then I grab an issue of Art Doll Quarterly (website, issues on Amazon*) and find myself thinking that I should take a stab at creating my own art doll. And then reality slaps me in the face and I enjoy the magazine, put it away, and return to life.
Fortunately, not everyone out there is as lazy as I am and they actually follow through with the idea of creating an art doll . . . or dozens of them! For example, the artist SpiritMama (blog, Twitter) is creating beautiful dolls like this Flower Fairy Zola doll that’s available now at Etsy.
An art doll would make a wonderful gift for that person in your life who is a toy collector . . . but not in the same sense that many of you reading the site are. Actually, thinking about it I suspect that an art doll would make a perfect gift for a mother, grandmother, or any other woman in your life who doesn’t normally collect toys.
And you may just inspire a new hobby.
