Spotted Online – Tartakovsky’s “The Clone Wars” on the Scrapheap?

TheForce.net talks about something I hadn’t even realized was happening (has happened): Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars* animated series is tossed out with the trash by Lucasfilm in favor of the newer series.

Now the new series is cool and all, but Tartakovsky’s “The Clone Wars” series is a great approach to Star Wars and it’s a shame to hear that Lucas is trying to erase it from memory. In an interview Tartakovsky says:

That’s the one thing that is kind of weird that he just wants to wipe it off. Because we used to be in the encyclopedias, some of the characters that we created. And now they’re gone. And you can’t get the DVD and all of this other stuff. And it’s like, whatever. What are you going to do, right? It existed.

So very weird . . . and makes me regret never buying the second DVD when I had the chance. I just assumed that with the popularity of the current TV series those older cartoons would be available on DVD forever.
