Spotted Online – Terminator 2 Madness at Distant Creations

With Terminator Salvation hitting theaters this week, Gina and I sat down on Saturday night and watched Terminator 2 – Judgment Day. We chose to watch the theatrical release, rather than the special edition, because it had been many years since I had last seen the theatrical version.

Well, it comes as no surprise that we’re not the only ones going back and watching earlier films in the series. But so far, I haven’t seen any blog posts that take it beyond this post at Distant Creations. Covering the film, toys, pinball game . . . well, you’ve just gotta hit the link. I complete agree with the author when he says:

“I remember going to see Terminator 2 in a movie theater when I was just 10 or 11 years old. What a fantastic experience. It’s amazing how the film’s computer-generated effects for the T-1000 “liquid metal” Terminator, groundbreaking at the time, still hold up very well today and even look better than some recent Hollywood films.”

Well, except for the whole age thing. I was 19 at the time. Man, I sure feel old.

I hope Terminator Salvation is half as good. No matter what, though, it’s gotta be better than Terminator 3 – Rise of the Machines. That was just awful.

  1. When I saw the character design pics and the first teaser trailer for Salvation, I was hooked. I started hunting down copies of all of the other movies– I had always loved them, but never owned them. I’m literally giddy waiting for Salvation… I hope it lives up to my expectations!

  2. Really? Bad huh? Crap. I wanna see it anyways… people told me High Tension was a horrible, horrible, terrible, no good piece of rotten dog poop.

It is one of my favorite modern horror/suspense movies. Glad I didn’t listen to folks!

Let’s hope the advance word is wrong this time!
