Spotted Online – The Artwork of Alfred Kubin
Finding the Monster Brains blog yesterday has meant that I’ve been sinking time into exploring some weird, fun artwork. I am not sure how long I’ll keep pointing you guys at specific posts at the site, but at the very least I must direct you to this post about Alfred Kubin. This is some wicked, disturbing imagery that should make your Monday just a little more fun.
Alfred Kubin (Wikipedia) died in 1959, but this artwork will be creepy and fun forever. And for the wealthy in the audience there’s always The Other Side*, first published in 1909 and, if this post at David X is any indication, it’s as suitably weirdly written as it is illustrated. I am tempted to grab this for my Kindle and give it a shot; but do I really need more weirdness in my reading?
